Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers on treatments, results, and what to expect at Victoria Park Clinic.

General
Consultation & Safety
Yes. Every treatment starts with a consultation to assess suitability, medical history, and your goals before any plan is agreed. Treatment is never provided without appropriate clinical assessment.
It means your treatment is planned by Dr Shah — a practising GP with advanced aesthetic training — based on clinical judgement, anatomy, and safety, rather than a standardised or sales-driven approach. Recommendations are proportionate and guided by what is genuinely suitable for you.
Yes. The consultation is designed to guide you. You can describe your concern — whether it is lines, skin quality, pelvic floor symptoms, or anything else — and a treatment plan will be discussed from there. You do not need to choose a treatment in advance.
Yes. The clinic is located in a calm, residential setting at Victoria Park Square in Bethnal Green. It is not a high street premises and is designed to offer a private, comfortable experience.
Injectables
Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Most people begin to see changes within 3–5 days, with the full effect developing around 10–14 days after treatment.
No — unless that is specifically what you want. The aim here is controlled softening of movement while preserving natural expression. Dosing and placement are adjusted according to your muscle strength and line pattern. The goal is a refreshed appearance that still looks like you.
Typically around 3–4 months, depending on the area treated and individual muscle activity. Some people find it lasts slightly longer or shorter — this varies between individuals.
Minimal. Small marks can occur temporarily at injection points, but most people return to normal activities immediately. You should avoid strenuous exercise and lying flat for a few hours afterwards.
Skin Quality
Microneedling, Skin Boosters
& LED Therapy
Microneedling stimulates your own collagen through controlled micro-injury to the skin. Skin boosters deliver ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or polynucleotides directly into the skin to improve hydration, elasticity, and skin quality. Both improve skin quality but through different mechanisms — they are often complementary.
Profhilo uses a high concentration of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Ameela uses polynucleotide technology to support the skin's own repair processes. Both improve skin quality — Ameela is particularly well suited to delicate areas such as under the eyes. The right choice depends on your skin concern and is discussed at consultation.
It depends on the treatment and the concern. Microneedling is usually performed as a course of 3 sessions. Profhilo typically involves 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Ameela usually involves a course of 3. Dermalux is most effective as a course of 8. The right plan is always discussed at consultation.
You may experience redness for around 24–48 hours, similar to mild sunburn. The skin may also feel warm, tight, or slightly dry for a few days. Most patients return to normal activities the following day. Post-treatment advice is provided at your appointment.
Devices
Emface
Emface combines HIFES muscle stimulation and radiofrequency to simultaneously improve facial muscle tone and skin quality — without needles. The muscle stimulation works on the deeper structural support of the face, while the radiofrequency supports collagen and elastin production in the overlying skin.
No. You feel muscle contractions and warmth during treatment, but it is generally well tolerated. Most patients find it comfortable and some find it relaxing.
A standard course involves 4 sessions over approximately 2 weeks. Extended courses of 6 sessions are also available for patients wanting a more comprehensive programme. The right course is discussed at consultation.
No. Emface is completely non-invasive and requires no downtime. You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
Devices
Exion RF & Ultrasound
Exion is used to improve skin tightening, firmness, texture, and contour across the face and body. It combines radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound to stimulate collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production. It is suitable for facial sculpting, eye area rejuvenation, neck and jawline tightening, and body skin quality improvement.
Most Exion protocols involve either 4 or 6 sessions depending on the area and treatment goal. Results build progressively over the course rather than appearing immediately after a single session.
Most patients describe treatment as comfortable and manageable. You may feel warmth in the treated area. The level of sensation varies depending on the protocol and area being treated.
Results develop gradually over the treatment course and continue to improve in the weeks following the final session as collagen remodelling continues. Most patients notice meaningful improvement after 2–3 sessions, with the full result visible several weeks after completing the course.
Wellbeing
Emsella
Emsella strengthens the pelvic floor muscles using High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology. It is commonly used for stress urinary incontinence, urgency incontinence, post-pregnancy pelvic floor weakness, and general pelvic floor health maintenance.
Emsella produces thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor contractions in a single 28-minute session — far beyond what voluntary Kegel exercises can achieve. This intensity of muscle stimulation is not possible to replicate through conscious effort alone.
No. You remain fully clothed throughout the entire treatment. No preparation or special clothing is required.
Most protocols involve 6 sessions over approximately 3 weeks. An extended course of 10 sessions is also available for patients wanting a longer structured programme. The right plan is always discussed at consultation.
Expectations
Results & Expectations
No. All aesthetic treatments require maintenance as your body continues to age and adapt over time. The frequency of maintenance depends on the treatment and your individual response. This is discussed at consultation so you have a realistic picture of what to expect long-term.
Yes. Combining treatments is often more effective than a single approach — for example, microneedling alongside skin boosters, or Emface alongside anti-wrinkle treatment. However, combinations should be planned carefully rather than layered randomly. This is something discussed at consultation.
Individual responses to treatment vary. Most treatments show gradual improvement rather than an immediate dramatic change. If results are not as expected, this is reviewed at follow-up and the plan is adjusted accordingly. Realistic expectations are always discussed before treatment begins.
